Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.

If you haven’t heard of this androgynous, emo/alt rock three-some from London, then you better get your hands on Extended Play ’07—a fine collection of the group’s earlier works, as well as three unreleased live tracks, including a rarely performed stage version of “Pure Morning.” Granted, this outing was meant to attract newbie fans before the band headed out on Linkin Park’s current Projekt Revolution Tour, but nonetheless, it’s a great way for anyone interested in this “glammed-out” Nirvana-like band to get a taste of synthed-out tracks, MIDI’d vocals and searing guitar lines. For the uninitiated, this is a wonderful opening, but for those more heavily in tune with this band, you should hold on to your bucks and cash in on Once More With Feeling: Singles 1996-2004, which has such stand-outs as “Teenage Angst,” “You Don’t Care About Us,” “Slave to the Wage” and “English Summer Rain,” among many others.
