The "Brit Floyd Experience" saw a Turbosound rig of Aspect and Flex Array loudspeakers provided by Mansfield, UK–based ESS. UK dates so far have included London's Royal Albert Hall and O2 Arena, three shows at the Liverpool Echo Arena, and festival shows at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight. The 70-date 2011 Brit Floyd tour goes into the UK and Ireland next spring.

Hard-rockers Mastodon brought their high-energy set to San Franciso’s Warfield Theater in early November, part of a slew of fall tour dates to promote their latest, The Hunter. Mix caught up with the crew, who are relying on house-provided gear. At the San Francisco gig, Rob Lightner manned the venue’s Yamaha PM5D-RH, using the X-Hall and X-Plate for drums and vocals, along with the Voice Doubler and Reverb Flanger for certain songs.

At the end of October, Martina McBride wrapped up her ELEVEN Across America Powered by Amtrak tour, boarding a train for a four-day, 11-city trek to celebrate the launch of her latest effort, Eleven. In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pink Together Express train is supported by General Mills, whose “Pink Together” campaign is dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer. The company contributed $1,000 to each of the local Susan G. Komen Affiliates along the tour. Her final stop in New York City saw McBride performing a private concert atop the Empire State Building.

In addition to celebrating its 20th anniversary, Audio Logic Systems handled sound for The Family—under the new name fDeluxe—reunion at Minneapolis' Loring Theater. Audio Logic owner John Markiewicz and systems tech Ed Coutu brought in a full d&b audiotechnik system comprising J-SUBs, J Infra Subs and C7 mid-high cabs, Q10 front-fills, d&b M6 wedges and two DiGiCo consoles—an SD8 at FOH and an SD10—for handling the group’s wedges and in-ear monitoring systems.
