On April 4, legendary Latin artist Graciela came out of retirement to sing alongside 11-year-old sensation Luisito Figueroa for the third annual induction ceremony of the International Latin Music Hall of Fame. Held at the Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture in Bronx, N.Y., the nonprofit organization inducted music legends Ruben Blades, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Xavier Cugat and Pedro Infante, and many others.
Posthumous inductions included Libertad Lamarque, Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez, Rita Montaner, Juan Morel Campos, Julio Jaramillo and Luis Carlos Meyer. Special recognition awards were presented to Rita Moreno, Dr. Cristobal Diaz Ayala, Rudy Mangual and other notable Latin artists. Johnny Albino and Graciela each took home the Lifetime Achievement Award, while the Beny More Memorial Award was presented to Joe Cuba.
