24th Annual TEC Awards scheduled for October 3
at S.F.’s Westin St. Francis
The 2008 TEC Awards is coming to San Francisco, on the second night of the 125th AES Convention (first night of exhibits)., and the Mix Foundation is expecting a sold-out crowd.
“The St. Francis is one of the classiest venues in town,” says Mix Foundation president (and San Francisco native) Hillel Resner, and we’re planning a lavish and exciting show.”
At least 700 of the pro audio industry’s top figures are expected to attend the dinner and ceremony, which includes awards in nine categories of Creative Achievement(projects) and 17 categories of Technical Achievement (audio products). A highlight of the evening will be the induction to the TEC Hall of Fame of musician/producer T Bone Burnett.
This year’s TEC Awards host will be veteran comedian and frequent Late Show guest, Bob Sarlatte, and musical duties will handle once again by Larry Batiste and the 2Cold Chile Bone TEC Band. Sound for the event will be provided by the Bay Area’s own Meyer Sound Labs and video pre- and post-production by Video4 of Santa Cruz, sponsored by Universal Audio. The show will be webcast beginning Oct. 4 by Broadjam.com, the popular indie music site. Many special guests are anticipated, as both performers and presenters of awards.
