Analog Devices announced the availability of its VisualAudio Designer 2.0.1 audio design tool. The new version supports Analog Devices' Blackfin and SHARC processors, and addresses every phase of developing embedded audio systems, including design, code generation, tuning and testing. It also supports additional EZ-KIT Lite platforms, and enables third-party applications to exchange data with VisualAudio layouts automatically.

VisualAudio Designer 2.0.1 supports two additional SHARC devices—the ADSP-21262 and ADSP-21364—in addition to continued support of the ADSP-21369 and two Blackfin processors: the ADSP-BF533 and ADSP-BF537. The new tool also includes an external automation API that enables COM-aware third-party applications (such as Microsoft’s Excel and Mathworks’ MATLAB) to instantiate, re-draw, run and exchange data with VisualAudio, an intuitive graphical environment that enables audio engineers to bring fully optimized audio products to market.
