This Month in Mix
Digidesign is offering two new Avid MediaDrive standalone SCSI hard drives (146 GB and 300 GB) and a new MediaDock Shuttle™ 146 GB removable SCSI drive. The company is also lowering prices for the 73 GB MediaDrive and 73 GB MediaDock Shuttle. The 80 GB FireWire drive and the 36 GB versions of the MediaDrive and MediaDock Shuttle are being discontinued.
Each of the new drives offer thermal-sensing fans and warning indicators to help protect data, while patented QuietDrive™ technology helps to reduce drive noise by 20 dB—a benefit in precision monitoring environments.
Avid SCSI drives use Ultra 320 LVD 10,000 rpm drives, feature data transfer rates up to 320 MB per second and are thoroughly tested for compatibility with Pro Tools systems. Avid MediaDock Shuttle drives provide the same performance and capacity as the MediaDrive standalone drives, but can be swapped between both Digidesign and Avid MediaDock™ chassis.
All of the Avid drives currently offered have been thoroughly tested with Pro Tools TDM 6.9 and Pro Tools LE™ 6.9 software running on Windows XP and Macintosh OS X systems.
