Paragon Studios, a leading multi-room recording and post-production facility in Franklin, Tenn., has acquired seven new Neumann microphones, including three matching M150 tube mics. The set was obtained for sessions with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra for the feature film One Night With the King, engineered by Paragon’s owner and chief engineer, Fred Paragano (pictured).

The mics were used as the primary L/C/R array for the orchestra in a traditional Decca Tree arrangement, along with other mics for surround and sectional “spot” balancing.

Paragano mixed the scoring sessions in both 5.1 surround and stereo on Paragon’s Solid State Logic C300, which was installed in May of this year in Studio B film/post room. Paragano is also working in Los Angeles on the final film mix as the music editor at Todd-AO’s Vine Street Stage.

Paragon Studios also acquired a pair of matched U87ai mics and a coordinated pair of KM140s. All microphones were supplied by GC Pro in Nashville.

One Night With the King will be released in theaters nationwide on October 13.
