Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.

Joy Behar, comedian and co-host of ABC’s The View, and veteran “adman”/voice-over talent Jack Keil collaborated with McHale Barone (www.mcbone.com) director Joe Barone on a package of National Crime Prevention Council/Ad Council radio PSAs featuring McGruff, the crime-fighting dog. Now entering his 25th year as the gravely voiced spokes-dog, Keil created the popular icon in 1980, while serving as creative director for Dancer Fitzgerald Sample/NY. He continued in both his CD and voiceover roles when DFS was acquired by Saatchi & Saatchi in 1986.
“The Saatchi & Saatchi NY creative team crafted a funny, focused package of spots to honor McGruff’s 25th anniversary, and Behar and Keil nailed all five in two hours,” says Barone. “They developed an immediate rapport, took direction extremely well and picked up on subtle performance suggestions immediately. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess they may have done this sort of thing before.”
