Sony is bundling a pair of its MDR-7506 studio monitor headphones with each MZ-M100 Hi MD recorder purchased between January 1 and March 31, 2006.

The MZ-M100 ($439.95) field recorder is designed to provide musicians and broadcast professionals with superb sound recording and playback capabilities coupled with substantial storage capacity. The MZ-M100 accepts removable 1GB MiniDiscs for up to 94 minutes of uncompressed recording time, and up to 34 hours in ATRAC3 plus format. With a suggested list price of $7.00, the Hi-MD media enables users to inexpensively archive original recordings and makes data transfer effortless. A USB port for Mac and Windows operating systems provides connectivity for recording applications including music, interviews and field recording.

The MDR-7506 ($130) headphones’ 40mm driver unit and “closed-ear” style reduce external noise interference.
