Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.
Inter-M Americas Inc. is now shipping its new R-Plus Series reference amplifiers. Combining space-saving power and cost-effective engineering, three 2-channel models are included within the product group, each of which occupies only two rackspaces and is convection-cooled for noiseless operation.
At eight ohms in bridged-mono mode, model R150 Plus produces 150W, while models R300 Plus and R500 Plus have outputs of 300 and 460W, respectively. In stereo mode, model R150 Plus produces 75W/4? per channel, while models R300 Plus and R500 Plus have respective outputs of 150W/4? and 250W/4? per channel. Operable between 20 Hz and 20 kHz (+/- 0.5 dB), each amp additionally posts low distortion ratings (0.05%), while signal-to-noise ratios measure >100 dB.
Other shared features include front panel indicators that display power on/off, clip limiting, signal presence, power on/off muting and the activities of other safeguards including thermal overload and short-circuit protection.
Out back on the rear panel, both binding posts and locking-type connectors are provided for outputs, while available inputs include both 1/4-inch TRS and XLR connectors. Suggested retail prices start at $330 for the R150 Plus. The R300 Plus retails for $380, and the R500 Plus is $472.
