Software providers Stardraw.com have announced the availability of a Beta 1 version of its application, Stardraw Control. During the Beta test period, Stardraw invites manufacturers and systems specialists to become test partners in this new project. In return, test partners are asked to provide as much detailed feedback as possible via the dedicated Stardraw Control forum that has been set up especially for this purpose.

Stardraw Control generates stand-alone, customized control programs, offering a new approach to solving the problem of controlling heterogeneous systems. Stardraw offers a software-based, unified control framework that can manage any type of addressable equipment from any manufacturer over any communications infrastructure.

The system features a drag-and-drop interface and intuitive design environment; installers can configure systems and control them without having to write code. Using Microsoft.net technology allows control programs to be portable. They can run on any Windows-enabled device, from PC to PDA, or Mac, Linux and more. Stardraw Control can communicate with and control any device using any protocol including TCP/IP, RS232, DMX, IR and EtherSound.

For the duration of the beta testing, Stardraw.com will undertake all work required to add support for products at no cost to the manufacturer. All the manufacturer has to do is supply a loan unit of the appropriate device with supporting documentation and Stardraw.com will do the rest.

For systems integrators, this open, unified approach means that a single application can control many diverse products with as much or as little complexity as the end-user needs.

According to Stardraw.com CEO David Snipp, “With Stardraw Control, we have developed an open system that is universally applicable. Manufacturers like it because it conforms to any standard or protocol they choose, and installers are excited because it breaks the constraints on product selection and application programming that you get with closed-architecture systems. This is a winner at every level.”
