Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.
Crest Performance’s new CPX 2.0 and CPX 3.0 power amplifiers feature a variable crossover on each channel, variable lowpass filters and an amp function switch that selects high, low or full-range operation.
With power ratings up to 3,000 watts, the CPX 2.0 and 3.0 feature Crest Audio's GCL (Gain Comparator Limiting) system, which allows maximum output without speaker distortion. Two fully automatic, dual-speed cooling fans pull cool air from in front of the rack and activate only when needed.
These two-rackspace power amps include 10-segment, multi-color, peak-hold bar graphs, along with LED input indicators for amplifier active, DDT active, temperature warning and DC output warning on the front panel display. Inputs are XLR-1/4-inch combi connectors, while outputs include binding post and Neutrik Speakon connectors, a separate Speakon mono bridge output and thru/low-output jacks and high-output jacks.
The CPX 2.0 and CPX 3.0 will be available in Q1 2006. For more information, visit www.crestaudio.com. For more new sound reinforcement products, visit mixonline.com/livesound/products/.
