The annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center used a sizable Yamaha- and NEXO-based audio system this year. Production Resource Group (PRG), along with assistance from Illumination Production Services, provided NEXO GEO S line arrays and Yamaha PM1D and PM5D digital consoles to support performances by Martina McBride, Lionel Richie, John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Hall & Oates and Bette Midler, to name a few. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as well as Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey of NBC's 30 Rock, were on hand for the event, which was hosted by Al Roker and Ann Curry.

All the festivities took place beneath the 88-foot, nine-ton Norway spruce from Ridgefield, Conn., roughly 60 miles outside of New York City. A full 45 feet in diameter, the tree is decorated with more than 30,000 lights and topped with a Swarovski crystal star. It will remain in place until January 8.
