CALREC REMOTE AUDIO PROTOCOL (RAP)
A major technology initiative of Calrec and partner Ross Video Ltd, the collaboration allows remote control of fader modules on any Calrec console. On a basic level, this protocol enables a vision mixer to take control over the serial interface to autofades on the Calrec desk. This also provides individual control of faders, cuts, and PFL of up to 192 faders on the Calrec console directly from the Ross OverDrive Automated Production Control (APC) System. NAB booth: N8723.
CALREC OFFLINE EDITOR
New at NAB, an Offline Editor provides operators with an emulation of the Calrec console PC application on any other PC, such as a laptop. This allows remote configuration of any Calrec console, saving time on site. The Offline Editor is especially useful for operators who are working to a tight schedule, such as freelance operators planning for a specific outside broadcast. The Offline Editor also enables the desk to be preconfigured while it is still in use - a practical feature for control rooms, which are subjected to constant use with fast turnaround between broadcasts. NAB booth: N8723.
Powered by two redundant engines, based on the latest incarnation of Super FPGA technology, and three of the latest generation Tiger SHARC effects and control processors on board, the SD7 has eight times the overall processing power of a D5 Live. The console features 256 processing paths at 96kHz (128 at 192kHz), with 672 simultaneous optical and MADI connections, 128 buses (plus 32 matrix buses) and 32 32-band graphic EQs. Also standard is four-band EQ with the ability to switch to dynamic EQ, plus multiband dynamic gates, compressors, delay and four-band parametric on all 256 processing paths. NAB booth: N9133.
DIGIDESIGN ICON D-CONTROL ES
As an aesthetic alternative to the award-winning, large-format ICON D-Control worksurface, D-Control ES offers the very same highly efficient workflows and unrivaled Pro Tools HD integration in a darker color scheme. EUPHONIX MC CONTROLLERS
The MC Mix ($999.99) and MC Control ($1,499.99) fit snugly between computer keyboard and screen. They integrate with your DAW using Euphonix' proprietary EuCon Ethernet protocol, which delivers 250 times the resolution and eight times the speed of MIDI. Both units feature motorized faders and a variety of buttons and rotaries. The MC Mix offers eight OLED displays, whereas the MC Control has a touch-screen interface. Euphonix has worked closely with software developers such as Apple, Steinberg, and MOTU to provide native support, and both units also support the HUI and Mackie Control protocols. NAB booth: N5217.
LAWO MC2 56 CONSOLE
With a compact footprint for deployment where space is a consideration, the mc_56 digital production consoledelivers the power, audio quality, and redundancy of its larger mc_90 and mc_66 siblings, as it uses the same HD core. Featuring a streamlined interface for maximum functionality, the mc_56 includes Lawo's new surround channel with hyper-panning, which enables mix engineers to control surround "bundles" with a single fader that links all channel parameters and 8-channel metering. Lawo hyper-panning also makes it possible to rotate a surround bundle through 360-derees, where front width, back width, and depth determine the surround source.NAB booth: N8720.
LAWO ZIRKON 2.8 UPGRADE
Lawo has updated its Zircon on-air radio console with significant enhancements to its system control and configuration software as well as its VisTool touchscreen surface visualization software. A new Sig80 DSP mode supports an additional 40 DSP channels (mono/stereo) with EQ, dynamics, and limiting provided via a second masterboard. The VisTools software upgrade lets users display 24 channels simultaneously, with the ability to set EQ parameter and marker colors, enhancing workflow efficiency. NAB booth: N8720.
