metaTechnik's MTV spot,"Watching TV"

Music and sound design boutique metaTechnik added their voice over talent and creative sound design to the latest trio of MTV station IDs. The promos, which broke during the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards on August 29th, was created by producer and illustrator Matt Vescovo for Vescovo Worldwide.

Continuing in the award-winning minimalist style of the previous “Watch and Learn” spots, the new spots take a look at the complexities of opening car doors with remote keys (“Timed Entry”);“Watching TV” features a mother and her adolescent son watching TV together. The mom is unfazed as violence erupts on the screen, yet covers her son’s eyes when a love scene ensues.

The three station IDs were created, produced and illustrated by Matt Vescovo. Animation was provided by Fad Animation in Seattle and New York, with Geraint Owen producing and end tag music provided by JSM’s music library.
