Fits & Starts Productions’ series of HOW-TO Church Sound Workshops are scheduled to begin next month. The workshops are dedicated to training audio volunteers who serve by operating the sound systems in their houses of worship. Five regional tours of six workshops each are scheduled.
The dates include: January 6-7, 2006, Allentown Presbyterian Church in Allentown, N.J.; January 13-14, 2006, Grace Community Church (Fremont, Ohio); January 20-21, 2006, Grace Chapel (West Columbia, S.C.); January 27-28, 2006, Concord Liberty Presbyterian Church (Glen Mills, Pa.); February 3-4, 2006, Heartland Church (Fort Wayne, Ind.); February 17-18, 2006, Morning Star Baptist Church (Catonsville, Md.); March 3-4, 2006, Vienna Presbyterian Church (Vienna, Va.); and March 10-11, 2006, Bethany UMC (Hampton, Va.).
The Friday basic workshop (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) costs $79; the Saturday intermediate workshop (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) is $139; both workshops is $189 or $169 with at least 10 days in advance.
The 12 hours of training feature audio engineer Mike Sokol as the lead instructor and are produced by Hector La Torre.
