Plug-ins are in use almost every day in any music production. What's your go-to plug-in? What's the oddest use you've put a plug-in into effect? E-mail the staff at mixeditorial@mixonline.com.

March 31 is the deadline to apply for the fifth annual Grammy Camp, a program for 75 selected high school students that offers a nine-day interactive residential summer music experience. Focusing on all aspects of commercial music, Grammy Camp provides instruction by industry professionals in an immersive creative environment with cutting-edge technology in professional facilities.

Grammy Camp takes place July 11-19, 2009, at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music as well as other professional venues throughout Los Angeles, and is sponsored in part by Epiphone Guitar.

The curriculum engages students in the technical aspects of creating, performing and recording, and emphasizes new and emerging music technologies. The program offers the following career tracks: audio engineering; concert promotion/production; electronic music production; music journalism; and performance tracks in bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, saxophone, songwriting, strings, trombone and trumpet. All tracks culminate in media projects, CD recordings and/or showcase performances.

Applications are available online from www.grammyintheschools.com in the Grammy Camp section or from Grammy Camp's page on Facebook.
