Finalists have been announced for the NSCA Expo’s fourth annual Innovations in Technology Awards, which are co-sponsored by Sound & Video Contractor magazine (www.svconline.com). Three finalists in each of seven product categories were chosen out of more than 100 entries by an independent voting committee. Finalists were judged against a standard of excellence and the impact that each has had on the advancement of the electronic systems industry. During the NSCA Expo on March 16, 17 and 18, 2006, in Las Vegas, attendees will vote for the winning products.

The 2006 finalists in the audio category are Yamaha’s M7CL digital mixing console, FiberPlex’s Light Viper VIS-4832 digital snake head and Shure’s UHF-R wireless system.

Finalists within the business productivity category are Crestron’s SystemBuilder 2, SMART’s Bridgit 3 conferencing software and D-Tools' System Integrator 4.5.

Within the control systems category, finalists are Contemporary Research’s iC-Web display manager, AMX’s Mio Modero DMS Pinnacle and Cabletime’s MediaStar Evolution.

Finalists in the convergence category are Middle Atlantic’s PDLT rack light, Extron’s MGP 464 four-window multi-graphic processor and Com-Net’s Digital Paging.

Within the security/fire/life safety category, the finalists are Belden’s Safe-T-Line cables, Gentex’s emergency notification Appliances and TOA’s N-8000 Series IP network intercom systems.

Finalists in the convergence category are SMART’s Actalyst interactive digital signage, Avocent’s Emerge wireless media streamer and Sony’s PCS-TL30 video conferencing system.

Within the Website category, finalists are Extron for www.extron.com, Crestron for www.crestron.com and Intelix for www.AVoverCat5.com.

Each product will be on display in the Innovations in Technology Awards pavilion (near main registration) beginning with the opening day of Expo, March 16. Votes will be tallied after 4 p.m. on Friday, March 17. All eligible voters will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a 4GB iPod nano. Award winners will be on display Saturday, March 18, until the Expo closes at 2 p.m.
