Holophone has unveiled a new version of its H2-PRO microphone ($6,000 MSRP), which is capable of recording up to 7.1 channels of discrete surround sound with enhanced low frequency effects (LFE), and is now exclusively equipped with Sennheiser’s MKE Series microphone capsules.
Holophone’s H2-PRO surround microphone is designed for capturing up to 7.1 channels of audio for HDTV broadcast, film, live events and music production. Using a patented design, the H2-PRO contains eight mic elements, now featuring Sennheiser MKE 2 mic capsules, arranged to coincide with the typical surround speaker setup found in a studio or home theater. The unique structure of the device and the configuration of the mic elements allow H2-PRO users to capture an accurate and immersive 3-D audio experience from a single point.
