Behringer New Studio, DJ Headphones

Behringer announced two new headphones to its studio and DJ line: the HPS5000 (pictured left) closed-type high-performance studio headphones and the HPX4000 closed-type high-definition DJ headphones.

Behringer announced two new headphones to its studio and DJ line: the HPS5000 (pictured, left) closed-type high-performance studio headphones and the HPX4000 closed-type high-definition DJ headphones.

The new HPS5000 headphones feature ultrawide frequency response from 20 to 20k Hz, while a high-efficiency 40mm cobalt capsule guarantees high-definition bass and super-transparent highs at an ultrawide dynamic range with a sensitivity of 113.5 dB @ 1 kHz and an impedance of 32 ohms. Maximum power handling is 100 mW. A single-sided 1-meter coiled cord (extendable to 2.5 meters) with oxygen-free copper wires, optimized oval-shaped ear cups and ultrarugged headband construction round out the package. The HPS5000 features a 1/4-inch TRS stereo connector plus a 1/4-inch TRS adapter for maximum flexibility.

The new HPX4000 is a set of closed-type high-definition DJ headphones with round swiveling ear cups and ultrarugged headband construction. Similar to the HPS5000, it features dynamic high-definition bass and super-transparent highs due to its high-efficiency cobalt capsule and single-sided, oxygen-free copper wires.

The HPS5000 and HPX4000 will be available in the second quarter 2004.

In other Behringer news, the new UltraPatch Pro PX3000 is a fully balanced, 48-point patchbay in one rackspace, features fully balanced, high-quality 1/4-inch TRS connectors and offers three selectable modes per channel via top-side switches.

“Normal” inserts interconnect the two rear jacks of one channel, while inserting a plug into one of the front jacks interrupts the connection of the rear jacks. “Thru” facilitates connection of each rear connector with its corresponding front connector. “Half Normal” interconnects the two rear jacks of one channel and inserting a plug into the lower front connector interrupts the connection of the rear connectors.

It is expected to ship in the third quarter 2004.
