Aaron Keane, a 15-year veteran who experience ranges from major-label recordings and live concert production to mixing and post-production for films/TV shows/national advertising spots, has joined Raleigh, N.C.-based Blazing Music + Sound as its senior engineer/composer/sound designer.

“Aaron Keane is a force in this industry, whose work ethic, creativity, resourcefulness and sensitivity consistently creates great work,” commented Eric Johnson, executive producer at Blazing Music + Sound.

At age 17, Keane began his career as an assistant engineer for a number of studios. He toured Europe and the U.S. with an indie label band during the 1990s before returning to the studio, honing his skills with such producers as Mitchell Froom and Eddie Kramer. He has recorded artists such as Shawn Colvin and Suzanne Vega before moving on to become staff engineer at The Cutting Room, where he engineered and played bass on hip hop album projects including Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides and Pharcyde’s Labcabincalifornia. In 1999, Keane launched Jarvis, a world-class studio in New York City, where he operated as chief engineer and produced development projects for the company. Recently, Keane has done audio post and mixing on commercials for Kill Bill, Cold Mountain, Gangs of New York and Chicago. Other television work includes sound design and mixing for MTV/Nike’s “Ball or Fall” and a live studio show with R.E.M. for the A&E network.
