At the 2015 NAB Show, TASCAM (Booth #SL4707) introduced the 24-track/24-bit DP-24SD Digital Portastudio, a solid-state device that records to SD Cards and offers up to eight tracks of simultaneous recording at 48kHz/24-bit audio resolution, plus virtual tracks. It has eight XLR mic inputs on combo ¼-inch jacks with phantom power and a ¼-inch instrument level input. Each input has compression and limiting available during recording.
The DP-24SD also offers a color LCD display and channel control strip (12 encoders). It includes two effects sends and three types of built-in effects. Up to eight dynamics effects can be routed to any or all inputs during recording. A multi-effects processor provides guitar amp simulation, delay, chorus and more, and is ideal for use with the direct hi-Z input. An adjustable reverb is available on send and return.
The unit also includes a USB 2 connection and built-in chromatic tuner and metronome.
