TASCAM Releases DR-100mkIII Portable Recorder

TASCAM in Montebello, Calif., is introducing the DR-100mkIII Handheld Digital Stereo Recorder ($399.99 street). The newest generation of TASCAM’s flagship Handheld Digital Stereo Recorder promises high resolution recordings up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, with a stated 109dB S/N ratio.

Precise, temperature-compensated clocking and high-performance dual-mono AKM “Velvet Sound” converters combine with TASCAM’s HDDA microphone preamps. the DR-100mkIII also offers support for SDXC cards up to 128 GB.

The DR-100mkIII has dual stereo mics in both A/B and omnidirectional patterns, two XLR/combo jacks, switchable phantom power, and a dedicated input level control. Its dual battery technology uses a built-in Li-ion rechargeable as well as AA batteries.

The DR-100mkIII features TASCAM’s exclusive Dual Recording Mode, which simultaneously captures a lower level safety track, to safeguard against unexpected source level spikes. The DR-100mkIII is housed in a rugged black aluminum chassis.
