API Lunchbox Receives Trademark Status

API in Jessup, Md., announces that the company’s Lunchbox has been awarded trademark status by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Granted on July 13, 2010, the registration helps recognize API as the creator of the format and allows API to more effectively market the lunchbox frame, which can hold up to six of the 500 Series models.

The official trademark registration symbol provides API both product identity and protection when the lunchbox is mentioned in print or online.

“This helps verify to our friends in the audio community that API is and always has been the creator of the lunchbox and the 500 Series format,” says API President Larry Droppa. “If you say ‘lunchbox,’ it means the API lunchbox, with the build quality, reliability and longevity that are the hallmarks of every piece of API gear.”

API created the VPR Alliance to assist manufacturers in designing products that are physically and electronically compatible with API racks.
