CAD Introduces E100S Condenser Mic

CAD in Solon, Ohio, introduces the new Equitek E100S ($799 MSRP) large-diaphragm supercardioid condenser mic, which is said to have the lowest noise floor in its class (3.7 dBA), with a smooth vintage tone and full-bodied low end. The E100S features a bootstrapped, full differential Quadra-FET front-end to ensure high sensitivity and low distortion.

The E100S is intended for recording vocals, percussion, acoustic instruments and everything in between, and designed to be versatile enough to deliver exceptional performance onstage and in the studio.

A nickel-plated 1-inch capsule promises accurate phasing when miking instruments and a full, rich tone for vocals that is enhanced by the microphone’s extended low-end frequency response. CAD’s proprietary circuitry preserves all of the warmth and detail demanded by leading artists and engineers.

Additional features include an 80 Hz highpass filter and a 10dB pad. A twin 5087 output driver provides low drive impedance. The E100S requires 48-volt phantom power, is RoHS compliant and also promises exceptional RF immunity.

The E100 comes in a high quality cherry wood carrying case and includes a “stealth” shock-mount.
