Cakewalk announces the availability of Andy Johns Kit 1 for Session Drummer 3 (Platinum Samples; $39.95) and Neil Peart Drums Vol. 1 for Session Drummer 3 (Sonic Reality; $99.95), both of which are available as downloads from Cakewalk’s Website. Session Drummer 3 is available exclusively for SONAR 8.5 Producer and SONAR X1 Producer, and provides for easy and fast creation of realistic sounding drum tracks.
Legendary engineer Andy Johns recorded Andy Johns Kit 1 for Session Drummer 3. Johns’ credits include the albums Led Zeppelin II, III, IV, and Physical Graffiti; the Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main Street and Sticky Fingers; Van Halen’s For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge; as well as albums by Blind Faith, Eric Clapton and more. Johns has engineered and produced albums that have sold in excess of 150 million copies.
Andy Johns Kit 1 features an expertly sampled hybrid kit with a Pork Pie bass drum, Drum Workshop (DW) toms and Johns’ personal engraved Ludwig Black Beauty snare as well as a hi-hat, three crash cymbals, one ride, a China, and a splash cymbal with up to 12 velocity levels and six round-robin variations. Also included are 120 MIDI Grooves from the Platinum Samples Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) and Bobby Jarzombek (Halford) MIDI Groove libraries.
Neil Peart Drums Vol. 1 for Session Drummer 3 by Sonic Reality features samples of the authentic Drum Workshop Signature “Snakes and Arrows” kit made to spec for Neil Peart of the band Rush. Recorded by engineer/producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains) through vintage Neve channels using vintage tube and ribbon microphones, this stereo kit offers high fidelity rock sound and promises “incredible realism.” Coming from the Drum Masters 2 and Studio ProFile series, Sonic Reality has crafted this sampled kit in Session Drummer 3 format for SONAR 8.5 and SONAR X1.
