GameSoundCon Announces Seattle 2010 Game Audio Seminar

SoundCon LLC announces the addition of Seattle to its list of 2010 locations for GameSoundCon, conference on videogame music composition and sound design. GameSoundCon 2010 Seattle will be held on May 10, 2010 at the Experience Music Project in Seattle.

GameSoundCon Seattle is an intensive full-day seminar for composers, sound designers and other audio professionals, teaching the unique creative, technical and business challenges essential to work in the game music and game sound industry.

“We’re very excited to introduce our concentrated GameSoundCon seminar in Seattle,” says Brian Schmidt, executive director of GameSoundCon. “With Seattle’s combination of high-tech and videogame industries, plus its vibrant arts community, it was natural for us to add Seattle to our list of 2010 cities.”

“Seattle is well known for innovation in technology and music, and is a perfect place to host GameSoundCon,” says Kristina Hudson, director of the Washington Interactive Network. “This high quality event will assist folks looking to enter the newest and fastest growing medium of entertainment and learning—the videogame business.”

“We began GameSoundCon in 2009 with highly successful two-day conferences in Los Angeles and San Francisco,” Schmidt adds. “In 2010, in addition to our two-day conferences in New York and San Francisco, we’re expanding to bring the GameSoundCon experience to smaller cities with a concentrated one-day format.”

“The top entertainment products are now videogames,” Schmidt continues. “Although many schools teach music composition and sound design, few teach the additional technical and aesthetic skills needed to compose game music and create sound effects for interactive video games. GameSoundCon attendees will learn the information critical for success in the multi-billion dollar games industry from the industry’s leading experts”

GameSoundCon also announces that two-day conferences in New York City and San Francisco are planned for fall 2010.
