iZotope Inc. in Cambridge, Mass., has released Nectar Elements ($129 MSRP), the latest addition to the company’s Nectar family of vocal plug-in effects. Using the same award-winning DSP as Nectar, Nectar Elements features an easy-to-use interface designed with the singer-songwriter, podcaster, or home recordist in mind. With 10 vocal processing effects working behind the scenes, Nectar Elements is designed to simplify vocal production.
Nectar Elements features dozens of Style presets offering a variety of classic and creative vocal styles, from Motown to Grunge to radio-ready podcast. Users can rapidly audition different vocal sounds with professionally-designed Style presets in a wide variety of Genres, as well as personalize a sound with easy-to-use controls that drive sophisticated vocal processing.
The Levels control allows users to quickly obtain punchy vocals with the loudness needed for consistency across vocal tracks. The Space control helps users settle vocals into a mix with delays and reverbs that add ambience and “smoothing.” Dedicated per-Style controls adjust intelligent sliders to complement a Genre and Style of choice. There are also EQ, De-Esser, Gate and Automatic Pitch Correction controls.
