Julian Casablancas, vocalist and chief songwriter of The Strokes, has mastered his new solo album, Phrazes for the Young, at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, Calif., with engineer Brian “Big Bass” Gardner. To celebrate the release, Casablancas performs a special series of shows every Friday night in November in Los Angeles.

The Strokes formed as a band in 1998 in New York City. They rose to fame in the early 2000s as leaders in the garage rock revival.

Casablancas’ new album on Cult Records is available on CD and as a digital download, and also offered as a luxury edition box set that includes a 48-page classically bound storybook containing original and exclusive artwork, full album lyrics, B-side lyrics, “phrazes” and photographs. Each leather bound book is signed by Casablancas.

Also included is a DVD containing solo acoustic performances, an interview, the album trailer, and the video for “11th Dimension.” One CD contains the full-length album, while a second CD includes five song demos from the album and three B-sides (demos available only in the luxury edition). The box also contains a 180-gram vinyl LP of the album.
