Mackie Announces TH-15A Powered Loudspeaker

Mackie announces the TH-15A 2-way powered loudspeaker ($469.99 MSRP), which is said to deliver 400 watts of system power in a rugged design weighing in at 36 pounds (16.3 kilograms). Designed by the same team that created the Mackie SRMv2 Series, the TH-15A offers the power, portability and performance required of a compact P.A. solution.

The TH-15A benefits from Mackie Active technology, which incorporates an active crossover and driver time as well as phase alignment for optimized system performance. The 15-inch high-precision woofer and 1-inch compression driver promise great overall sound and class-leading low-frequency response for a compact cabinet. A user-adjustable 3-band EQ with a sweepable midrange lets users flexibly EQ the system for the application at hand—a great feature for smaller setups that may not have a ton of outboard gear. The rugged cabinet is trapezoidal, allowing for use as a monitor wedge, and its lightweight design is intended for easier pole mounting.

“We are very excited to deliver proven Mackie Active technology derived from our popular SRM Series at the most accessible price point in Mackie’s history,” says Greg Young, Mackie brand product manager. “The TH-15A is a perfect compact P.A. solution for a tremendous variety of portable applications.

“DJs, smaller live gigs, churches, band rehearsals—the applications are limitless. The portability alone makes the TH-15A perfect for travelling musicians and DJs.”

Mackie states that the TH-15A will be available globally in September 2009. For more information, visit Mackie’s TH-15A page.
