Meyer Sound has appointed John McMahon (pictured) to the newly-created position of Executive Director of Digital Products. McMahon’s new position reflects Meyer Sound’s continually expanding commitment to the development and integration of its digital products, which have become an integral part of Broadway and West End productions, Cirque du Soleil shows, festivals, tours and events

In his new role, McMahon will oversee the strategic direction of marketing, sales and research and development of Meyer Sound’s key digital signal processing technologies, including Galileo loudspeaker management system, Matrix3 audio show control and Constellation electroacoustic architecture, as well as all related hardware and software development.

“John has been an integral part of defining and developing the strategic direction of Meyer Sound’s new generation of digital technologies, as well as maintaining a consistency in integrating those new technologies with our existing products,” says John Meyer, Meyer Sound CEO and cofounder. “His new position will enable him to work even more closely with the company’s team leaders to firmly establish Meyer Sound’s position as a leader in digital audio technologies worldwide.”

“Meyer Sound’s acquisition of LCS Audio in 2005 was the first step in what has created a new era, with both companies’ strengths creating a synergy that is nearly limitless in its potential going forward,” McMahon says. “I’m truly excited to be taking on this new role within Meyer Sound, and look forward to unveiling the results of our dedicated research and development teams in the coming months.”

McMahon will split his time between Meyer Sound’s Berkeley, Calif. headquarters and the company’s offices in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. He will continue to be a strong presence at key trade shows and presentations worldwide, and will keep in close contact with Meyer Sound’s customer base.

In related news, Teri McLennan has been promoted to Business Operations Manager at Meyer Sound Canada. McLennan will take on many of the day-to-day operations responsibilities that McMahon has been handling up until now.
