Aphex has introduced Microphone X (price TBA), a cardioid condenser USB microphone that comes with integrated analog processing, including optical compression and Aphex’s Aural Exciter and Big Bottom processing, as well as HeadPod 4 technology.

The Microphone X is configured to record the voice with analog processing before the conversion to digital, to obtain the best possible recording quality. Users record an optimized signal directly into a DAW via USB. Its processing power is controllable, with input trim, headphone-output level and individual controls for the Aural Exciter and Big Bottom levels.

Each of the processors has its own on/off control.
