Available in eight to 24-channel versions, Neotek’s new Élan Table Top console is designed for project rooms and smaller artist-oriented studios. Except for the lighter frame and flat bottom, the console is identical to its big brother, the Élan II. Élan II modules, meter bridge and P&G faders are all standard. Rear terminations are in XLR and ¼-inch TRS jacks or, optionally, Elco connectors.
Despite its compact size, the board’s features are all-pro, ranging from Neotek’s acclaimed all-discrete mic preamps to in-place solo and three overlapping mute groups. The Élan Table Top offers Neotek’s musical, four-band EQ with sweep frequencies. The critical stereo combining amps are discrete hybrids to keep noise and distortion at a minimum. Neotek’s Common Sense bus system provides a more sophisticated approach to big console design than balanced buses—Élan’s outputs are balanced with cross-coupled 0.1% resistors.
The Élan Table Top is shipping now. Options include several automation system choices: VCA moving fader or MIDI.
