Odds on Recording, a recording and CD/DVD manufacturing facility in Henderson, Nev., has installed Ocean Way Monitor Systems, designed by Allen Sides of Ocean Way Recording. The company recently outfitted its expanded studio with a three-way, high resolution OWA415T monitor system with 18-inch subwoofers. The install was specifically tailored according to Odds on Recording’s acoustical composition and SSL 9000 K console.
Sides has built and installed monitor systems for filmmakers such as George Lucas, as well as top artists including Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Dave Grohl and Beck. “The term ‘one size fits all’ does not apply to the recording business because every studio is built differently,” Sides explains. “We offer our systems in various sizes to suit the needs of each given studio and mixing console, allowing the monitors to work within the confines of the space rather than forcing the room to work around the speakers. The system at Odds on Recording is custom-designed for its particular space, which will provide musicians greater accuracy, performance and productivity for recording, mixing and playbacks.”
