Phoenix Audio Introduces DRS-8 Mk2 Multichannel Preamp

Phoenix Audio announces the DRS-8 Mk2, an update to the company’s DRS-8 multichannel preamp that it released in 2010. The company designed the DRS-8 Mk2 primarily for vocal and instrument recording, as well as live and broadcast applications, and the new unit promises substantial improvements over its predecessor.

The new version builds on the DRS-8’s sonic character, color and tone with a newly improved PSU board and power transformer, which offer greater power and improved overall noise performance. The DRS-8 Mk2 offers greater flexibility with detented output channel pots for easier recall. Phoenix Audio redesigned the preamp for greater ease of use during recording by adjusting the HPF from 120 Hz to 80 Hz and replacing the 30dB pad with a 15dB pad.
