Recording Academy L.A. Chapter to Present ‘Unsigned and Making It’

The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter, in partnership with the Producers & Engineers Wing, will present “Unsigned and Making It” on August 21, the second in a series of programs focusing on new and alternate streams of music business revenue. Industry innovators will share how they achieve success outside the boundaries of the conventional music industry.

The panel moderator is Mike Clink, a producer/engineer best known for his work with Aerosmith, Guns ‘N Roses and Metallica. Panelists include Danny Benair, the founder of Natural Energy Lab, a Los Angeles-based music marketing company specializing in film, television and commercial placement; Alexandra Patsavas, music coordinator and supervisor for numerous television shows, films and soundtracks; Tommy Tallarico, founder/president of Tommy Tallarico Studios, the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) and live concert event “Video Games Live”; and pop/rock band The 88, whose music has been featured in such films as Failure To Launch, Surviving Christmas, and You, Me and Dupree, as well the TV shows Grey’s Anatomy, The O.C. and One Tree Hill.

“Unsigned and Making It” will take place August 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Recording Academy, 3402 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, Calif. The event is free for current Recording Academy members; non-members may participate for $50.
