Ocean Way/Record One in Hollywood reports that Steve Kempster mixed Trevor Rabin’s score for Disney Pictures’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (which opens today, July 14) in the facility’s Studio A film-mixing studio. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Jon Turteltaub, creators of the National Treasure franchise, the film follows a modern day sorcerer and his hapless apprentice in a battle between good and evil.

During the final stages of the film’s music mixing at Record One, composer Rabin worked closely with Kempster, Pro Tools operator/editor Larry Mah, music editor Robbie Boyd and recordist Greg Hayes via Apple iChat. Rabin’s previous work includes the scores for the National Treasure films, Remember The Titans, and Get Smart.

After a five-year lockout by producer Dr. Dre, Record One’s Studio A re-opened with newly configured multichannel film mixing and monitoring features.
