Sweetwater Hires Five New Employees

Sweetwater Sales Engineer Jim Cooper

Sweetwater, in Fort Wayne, Ind., one of the leading music instrument and pro audio retailers in the world, recently hired five new employees; four are new Sales Engineers. The new hires bring total employment at Sweetwater to 400.

Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack says, “We plan to continue, for the foreseeable future, to hire talented and dedicated young people interested in music and music-making to help us provide world-class service and expertise to our ever-increasing customer base.”

Sales Engineer T.J. Bechill received his bachelor’s degree in Music Technology from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind., a program that Sweetwater helped to establish four years ago by providing funding. Bechill is originally from Wauseon, Ohio.

Sales Engineer Jim Cooper is from Houston, Texas, and has a degree in audio engineering from Houston Community College.

Sales Engineer Nathan Malone is a native of Stafford, Va., and received an associate’s degree in Recording Arts, and a bachelor’s degree in Music Business, from Full Sail in Orlando, Fla.

Sales Engineer Troy Watson grew up in Lafayette, Ind., and attended Purdue University before transferring to the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, where he received his associate’s degree in Audio Production.

Copywriter Lee Andrews is from the St. Louis area, where for eight years he served as chief editor and marketing manager for Mel Bay Publications. Andrews has authored 23 books comprised primarily of instruction on “anything with strings.”
