TC Helicon Introduces MP-70, MP-75 Dynamic Mics

TC-Helicon MP-70

TC-Helicon is now offering the MP-70 ($129) and MP-75 ($169) handheld dynamic microphones. The proprietary Lismer capsule design uses a patented neodymium magnet structure for high output and uniform performance. The placement of the super-cardioid capsule promises a high degree of off-axis noise rejection and feedback suppression.

The mics offer a super-cardioid pickup pattern with a stated frequency response of 50 to 18k Hz, a suspended dual shock-mount for low handling noise, and a rugged and ergonomic design. Both the MP-70 and MP-75 can be used with TC-Helicon’s Adaptive Tone, and can work with non TC-Helicon products.

The MP-75 additionally offers a Mic Control feature (patent pending), which allows for USB communication between the microphone and TC-Helicon’s vocal effects devices—including VoiceLive 2, VoiceLive Touch, VoiceLive Singles and VoiceTone products—from a single button on the barrel of the microphone. Used with products such as VoiceLive 2 and VoiceLive Touch, the button is user-configurable. Also, through a firmware update, any vocal effects unit in TC-Helicon’s current product range can be controlled with MP-75’s Mic Control feature. The firmware updates are available via VoiceSupport.

When setting up and singing with the MP-75 microphone and any USB-enabled TC-Helicon vocal processor, vocalists have the freedom to move around the stage while maintaining full control of their vocal sound.
