Tony Bennett, Phil Ramone to Appear at AES Convention on October 20

On Thursday, October 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the 131st AES Convention will host a conversation between iconic artist Tony Bennett, legendary producer/engineer Phil Ramone, and celebrated recording engineer/studio owner/co-producer Dae Bennett. The subject matter for this rare discourse will be the trio’s recent collaboration on the new album Tony Bennett: Duets II.

The recently released CD features Bennett performing 17 standards with Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Andrea Boccelli, and Lady Gaga, among other artists.

The event will highlight the first day of the four-day Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City’s Javits Center.

A legendary star for more than six decades, Tony Bennett has mined multiple Gold records since the earliest days of his career. Two of his best-known songs are “Rags To Riches” and “I Left My Heart In San Francisco.”

Phil Ramone is one of the world’s most prolific and pioneering producer/engineers, with 14 Grammy Awards and countless industry honors to his credit, including a Technical Grammy Award for a lifetime of innovative contributions to the recording industry. His credits include work with Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen.
