Aardvark announced its first official release of any driver on the Mac platform: The Q10 now works with all Mac audio programs such as Steinberg Nuendo, Cubase SX, Emagic Logic, BIAS and MOTU Digital Performer. Full multiclient support has been implemented so that up to four Q10 units can be installed in a G5. It also has ultralow-latency performance using Apple’s CoreAudio drivers, allowing for latency performance down to 2 ms for near-real-time performance with VST instruments and soft synths.

The units that begin shipping with the OS X drivers will also include a redesigned PCI card that is compatible with the Mac G5, G4 units and all Windows PCs.

“With the Q10 having Mac OS X drivers, we can now fully support the entire professional audio community that’s been wanting to use the Q10’s superior quality with major software programs like Cubase, Logic and Digital Performer,” said Erik Lovell, VP of sales and marketing for Aardvark. “It makes it easy for end-users that may want to change between Macs and PCs and makes Aardvark much more attractive to our dealers that have been wanted to sell Aardvark to their Mac customer base.”
