Antigone Rising Records Lava Debut at Mirror Image

Mirror Image Recorders (New York City) recently welcomed all-female rock group Antigone Rising, who recorded their Lava Records debut on one of the studio’s three SSL consoles.

Mirror Image Recorders (New York City) recently welcomed all-femalerock group Antigone Rising (pictured), who recorded part of their LavaRecords debut on one of the studio’s three SSL consoles.

The new band worked with several producers, including David Bendeth,who will also mix the album at Mirror Image. The album is slated for anAugust 2004 release.

“We want to break out of the mold of what everyone thinkswe’re supposed to be as a female rock group,” says Cassidy,lead singer of the New York City-based quintet. “We are not TheDonna’s or L7; we are a product of numerous, diverse influencesthat forges something completely different. And we don’t considerourselves original for a female group; we hope to be unique whencompared to any male band as well.”

Located in the heart of Times Square, Mirror Image Recorders’client list includes producer Erick Sermon, artist Redman, GrammyAward-winning producer Rockwilder, artist Method Man and others.
