At the Winter NAMM show, Celemony Software GmbH presented the audio editing software Melodyne uno for Windows and Mac OS X. This smaller version of Melodyne operates like a sample editor, and is a tool for pitch correction, vocal production and the editing of melodies.
The application operates without arrange levels. Complex processes such as note recognition operate smoothly in the background out of the user’s sight. Like a sample editor, it permits editing of the pitch, tempo, phrasing, formants and timing of monophonic audio files. Parameters can be varied over a wide range and with good sound quality. Melodyne uno is designed to preserve the original phrasing, and can handle all commonly encountered audio formats, integrating smoothly into all conventional MIDI/audio sequencers.
