Crown International announced the addition of the Xs 1200 ($1,789)to the Xs Series of power amplifiers. The Xs 1200 is thehighest-powered model in the series, providing 1,100 watts per channelinto 4 ohms.
The amplifier is housed in a rugged, all-steel 2RU chassis andemploys efficient forced-air cooling. The front panel featuresdual-precision detented level controls, power switch, bridge, power, ACmains present, temp and fault LEDs, and signal and clip LEDs for eachchannel. Rear panel connections include Neutrik Combo inputs, allowingbalanced XLR or 1/4-inch connections, barrier strip inputs, XLR maleoutputs for daisy-chaining, and touch-proof binding post, Speakon andPhoenix outputs. The Xs 1200 also employs extensive protection anddiagnostics capabilities, including output current limiting, DCprotection, circuit breaker and special thermal protection.
Power ratings per channel on the Xs 1200 include 1,600W @ 2 ohms,1,100W @ 4 ohms, and 650W @ 8 ohms.
