Under the new licensing, access is given to reference design and manufacturing files for direct integration of EtherSound technology in the manufacturer’s board design.

In addition, royalty rates decrease as they become based not only on the number of products sold by a given licensee, but also on the number of channels per product. Software vendors can access the EtherSound API, allowing control of EtherSound devices and networks under existing or dedicated applications.

“We want to provide the licensees with more flexibility in implementing EtherSound,” said Digigram managing director Philippe Delacroix. “Pro audio manufacturers can now optimize the dimensions and components for their own specific needs. And at the same time, they have the possibility to integrate a proven design that has been extensively tested by Digigram, thus reducing their own design and testing costs.”
