Gefen, an interconnectivity solutions provider for computer andelectronics components, recently released the ex-tend-it SDI-to-DVIadapter. The new adapter enables high-definition serial digital videotransmitted through SDI to be converted to DVI (digital visualinterface) for output to DVI displays. It works with all SDI and serialdigital video sources, which are commonly used in broadcast andpost-production, and outputs a DVI signal compatible with LCD monitors,HDTVs (high-definition televisions), video projectors and plasmadisplays with DVI.
Gefen’s SDI-to-DVI adapter, priced at $899 (U.S.), outputs RGB DVIat 1,280×1,024 resolution and supports PAL, NTSC, 720p, 1080p and 1080Iformats.
