The Mark II version of Korg’s ELECTRIBE•S rhythmproduction sampler adds an enhanced sound set, an all-new Mod Delayeffect and rugged metal case design.

The ES-1mkII has 95 seconds of sampling time (mono) and can store upto 100 samples in memory. Sounds may be sampled through any of 11effects, including the new modulation delay. There is also a MasterDelay control to add tempo-synched digital delay to the sound.

A real-time Resample function allows users to make new loops fromcomplete phrases played on the ES-1mkII and to apply effects topreviously recorded samples. A Time Slice feature allows the user tovary phrase tempos without affecting pitch. Incoming audio can also begated in time with a pattern for rhythmic effects. Gated audio can thenbe run through the Master Delay for further processing.

A 16-step pattern grid allows the user to create parts or forreal-time recording. The ES-1mkII has nine mono parts available forsequencing new rhythms. Parts can be linked to support stereo samplesand two parts function as exclusive groups for proper drum kitbehavior. There are 128 patterns featuring numerous new samples,including the dance and urban musical styles. Patterns can be strungtogether and saved as a song. (Sixteen songs are also provided.)

Korg’s proprietary Motion Sequence function allows knob tweaksto be recorded as part of a rhythm pattern. An Effect Motion Sequencefunction can record changes in effect parameters, and a Delay MotionSequence can control the overall Master Delay.

Performance features include tap tempo, part muting and soloing, andpattern sets for arranging patterns across the 16-step keys.

A Smart Media™ slot is provided for storing samples, songs andpatterns or for loading .AIFF and .WAV files. The ES-1mkII alsofeatures a 1/4-inch stereo phone jack input with a line/mic levelswitch, a gain adjustment knob, dual-mono phone jack outputs and a1/4-inch stereo headphone jack. MIDI In/Out/Thru are provided for easyconnection to other MIDI equipment. Power is supplied via 9-volt ACadapter.
