Latin Grammys Cancelled

Organizers have pulled the plug on the 2nd Annual Latin Grammys after trying to reschedule the cancelled affair due to the terrorist attacks on September

Organizers have pulled the plug on the 2nd Annual Latin Grammys after trying to reschedule the cancelled affair due to the terrorist attacks on September 11.

Recording Academy president Michael Greene expressed a possibility last week that the show could be rescheduled, but has since issued a statement saying it would be impossible.

“We’re disappointed that we will not be able to give this year’s deserving nominees their chance to show the world what we already know abou them — that they are world-class musicians,” Greene said.

The Recording Academy plans to distribute the awards to the winners privately.

The show was scheduled to be held in Los Angeles the day of the attacks.
