Neutrik’s Speakon STX Series is a 4-pole unit with metalhousings designed for harsh environments that use speakers andamplifiers. The new unit offers a sealing gasket to help keep moistureout for weatherproof applications. Four new part numbers will includeboth male and female cable ends, and male and female posidriveterminated receptacles.
The new STX Series connector delivers electrical performance up to50 amps (40 amps RMS continuous current and 50 amps audio signal, witha duty cycle of 50 percent). The one-piece chuck design allows theattachment of 6 to 14mm (0.24-inch to 0.55-inch) outer diameter cableand employs the “quick lock” system with latch. The cableconnector is easy to assemble with only three pieces. The temperaturerange was tested at -30ºC to +80ºC, with a flammability ofUL94HB. The weatherproof gasket meets IP 54 protection class standardsand mates with all currently available 4-pole Speakon products.
The wiring options offer screw-type terminals or soldering withstranded wire of 6 mm/10 AWG. The cable connector can be ordered withnickel finish with chuck and bushing (NLT4MX), the black-chrome cableconnector with chuck and bushing (NLT4MX-BAG), the chassis connectorwith nickel finish (NLT4FP) and the black-chrome chassis connector(NLT4FP-BAG).
