Mackie and Universal Audio have released beta version 3.3 software with Macintosh OS X support for the Mackie UAD-1 DSP Powered Plug-In card. the public beta release of this software is currently available as a free download for registered UAD-1 owners from both the Mackie and Universal Audio Websites (www.mackie.com/uad-1, www.uaudio.com/PPI/downloads/downloadmacxau.html, respectively). The final version is scheduled for release on December 18, 2003.

"We recognize the importance of the Macintosh platform in music production and have therefore made support for Macintosh OS X our primary focus over the last year," commented Matt Ward, president at Universal Audio. "For this reason, we are very excited to make this beta version available in advance for wider testing among Mac-based UAD-1 users."

Version 3.3 will support OS X on all Mac platforms including G5 processors.
